Paraphernalia is rising and falling dramatically in terms of subscriptions lately. I’m wondering what is up. People seem to have strong attraction or aversion to what I’m writing and yet all remain silent. Say something, cowards! (Maybe I don’t want to know.)

I noticed Substack is rolling out a new feature called “audience-specific content.” I have not taken the time to understand what that’s about but it intrigues me. Has anyone began using it and if so, what do you think? In today’s paid edition, I’m sharing a few things I’ve been into—music, books, film—and would like to ask what you guys have been into as well.
